CuelineIn short: we don't collect your personal data. Your scripts stay on your PC. To follow your voice, speech is turned into text by the speech service you choose (by default Google's or Microsoft's, through Chrome or Edge), or entirely on your PC with the Offline engine.
Microphone
Cueline uses your microphone only while a prompter session is running in Word Tracking or Voice-Activated mode, to follow your reading. Cueline does not record, save or upload your audio itself. Classic mode does not use the microphone at all.
Speech recognition
To turn your speech into text, Cueline uses one of these engines, which you choose in Settings › Guidance:
- Browser (default): the speech recognition built into Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. While you prompt, your audio is processed by Google's or Microsoft's speech service under Google's Privacy Policy or the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Windows online: Windows speech recognition, processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Offline: recognition runs entirely on your PC; no audio leaves it.
Only the recognised text is passed back to Cueline, on your own PC, to move the highlight. We never receive your audio or the recognised text.
Your scripts and settings
Scripts are saved where you choose, as normal files on your PC. Settings are stored in Cueline's local app data folder. We don't receive either.
Remote and Director modes
These are off by default. When you turn them on, Cueline serves your script on your local network only, with no cloud relay, so a phone, tablet or another computer on the same network can display or edit it. Anyone on that network who has the address can view it, so use these modes on networks you trust and turn them off when you're done.
Purchases and licensing
Cueline is sold through the Microsoft Store. Payments, refunds and licences are handled by Microsoft; we don't receive your payment details. Cueline asks the Microsoft Store whether your Microsoft account owns the app or has an active trial. This check happens between the app and the Store on your PC.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-in
- No analytics, tracking or advertising identifiers
- No selling or sharing of personal data
This website
This website has no cookies, analytics or trackers. The hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security, under its own privacy policy.
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. They're stored by our website host, Netlify, under the Netlify Privacy Policy, and used only to reply to you. We delete messages once they're no longer needed, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time through the same form.
Children
Cueline is a general-purpose productivity app and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
